Santa Barbara County Hikers
If you don't feel like doing the entire hike, you can choose your mileage. Do the full loop (14 miles), or just hike with us to the meadow (4 miles roundtrip) or to Gibraltar Road (5 miles r.t.) We'll start at the Rattlesnake trailhead and follow the trail to Gibraltar Road. From behind Gibraltar Rock, we'll pick up the ridgeline to West Fork (Flores) Peak then follow a seldom used and unmapped (though recently brushed) trail to Camino Cielo. From there we'll follow Gidney Ridge down to the junction with the Angostura/Gibraltar service road then back to the top of Tunnel and drop back down to the connector and back to the cars for an 14 mile and 5500+ gain morning. This will be a rain or shine hike. The trail is steep and some minor 3rd class scrambling is involved. Well-behaved trail dogs welcome. Meet at 8:45. We'll start hiking at 9:00 on the dot.
